"Messenger Satchels" with the JCU BUG logo can now be purchased from the JCU Bookshops in Townsville and Cairns.
They cost $25 each, and are ideal for wearing while riding on a bicycle. You don't have to be a member of the BUG to own and use one of these great bags (which come with a range of useful pockets - including a media pocked with an eye for your headphones' cable) - so feel free to purchase one for yourself or for a friend or family member.
The profits from the sale of the bags will go towards funding future projects for the BUG.
Ride of Silence - Townsville
We will have a slow ride to commemorate the Ride of Silence at a time to be announced. It will be during the day, we are hoping to get permission for 9am. Stay tuned.* * * * *

Memorial Ride - Cairns
Sue Rayner sent the following message to a few people, who then sent it to the BUG mailing list: Good morning.
As you are all aware a colleague, friend & fellow rider was tragically killed this Saturday. Not only was he a fellow cyclist but also a valuable asset to our Cairns community as he was one of our specialist doctors.
The gap he will leave both professionally & for many of us personally is enormous.
Please join us this coming Sunday 25th January to commemorate this tragedy in a bike ride to the scene with a minutes silence as our mark of respect.
The ride will leave from opposite Tobruk pool at 0600 hours to arrive at the Trinity Beach roundabout by 0645.
If you don't have a bike, mountain or road, please feel free to drive out. Please park in the LIONS car park off the Trinity roundabout, heading towards the beach, so as not to occlude traffic.
The slogan for the day will be Share The Road. There will be a vehicle leaving from Tobruk pool to take flowers out if people would like to join me in marking the site.
